As an artist I would much prefer to leave my work to do the talking, and I do hope that my work inspires you as you view them.Having said that I have scribbled down a short profile on myself if you wish to gain some insight to myself.Here goes..........Welcome,my name is Joe Hawthorn and I was born in Glasgow in 1952. I have painted all of my life, in my youth I found myself exploring and studying a huge range of art and artists throughout the centuries. This allowed me to hone and develop my own skills.I now reside within the county of West Lothian and some years ago I accepted a commission to paint a series of large murals to cover the walls of a community building in Bathgate, West Lothian.
I have and continue to exhibit and sell my work throughout the country and my work has also led me to co-ordinate a group of artists with learning disabilities. This group now have successfully exhibited their work within the West Lothian region, and the Regal Theatre in Bathgate commissioned a large quantity of work from this group which now hangs within that Theatre.
